The Cast...

He Walked by Night (1948) is a black-and-white police procedural film noir, crediting Alfred L. Werker as director. The film, shot in semidocumentary tone, was allegedly based on the real-life actions of Erwin "Machine-Gun" Walker.

During production, one of the actors, Jack Webb, struck up a friendship with the police technical advisor,Detective Sergeant Marty Wynn, and was inspired by a conversation with Wynn to create the radio and later television program Dragnet.[1]

He Walked by Night was released by Eagle-Lion Filmsand is notable for the camera work by renowned film noir cinematographer John Alton.[2] Today the film is in public domain.[3] Courtesy Of Wikipedia...

    I went back and re-read your poem "The Show Must Go On" and I think that your poem is much deeper than actors on a stage. {Unless the actors, are politician...)

    Oh! yes, three Classic Film noir...I have watched all three films...even though I must admit that I watched the film "Raw Deal" with abandon (not paying too much attention to the film...Therefore, I must re-watch that film.)
